New CDs: Last December I participated in a concert of improvised music in Lviv, Ukraine with four fantastic European Musicians. A recording of the concert will soon be released on Moscow's Solyd label. The quintet, formed for the Bezz festival in Ukraine and Poland, consists of Yury Yaremchuk, Petras Vysniauskas Mark Tokar, and Klaus Kugel.

Saxophonist Glenn White will soon release "Sacred Machines" on the Seattle-based label Origin Arts. I play piano and Rhodes. Check out the samples at Glenn's Myspace site. While you're at it visit my myspace site. (Is that redundant?)
Love and Beauty and Beyond: Meanwhile plans are in the works for a new CD - something a little different this time. I've been writing for piano trio plus horns and strings.

Piano Jazz. Listen to an excerpt from Roberta's 2001 appearance (her second) on NPR's Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz.

Roberta and Marian discuss the art of solo piano playing followed by a free duo improvisation.

Books. Jazz Piano Vocabulary is on Google book search! View a sample from Volume 5: The Mixolydian Mode or just google "jazz piano books".

"No I do not own a plethora of leather jackets."
Here's a recent picture taken at the San Diego Museum. I'm accompanying the wonderful singer Coral MacFarland Thuet, who blew away both the audience and the band that evening. :
